Gratitude and Healing
Most of us start the year with the greatest intentions. We think about resolutions that will make the year great, and we try to better ourselves in any way possible. But, as the year goes on, stresses take hold, disappointments occur, and all our good intentions and well wishes go out the window.
At this time of the year, it’s essential to refocus your mind and retrain it to maintain some gratitude, even when you’re exhausted by the year that’s almost complete.
Gratitude is beneficial in maintaining balance in your body and mind. It allows you to focus on what you have, rather than what you’re missing, which can be incredibly beneficial to processing the stress and trauma you might be holding onto.
Stress can be one of the main factors that cause aches, pains, and illnesses in the physical body. It has a powerful effect on your overall well-being and can impact how you eat, exercise, sleep and complete most daily activities. In addition, if you don’t allow yourself time to reduce your stress, it can quickly take hold, impacting every moment of your life.
This November, before the hustle and bustle of the holidays take hold, find a moment for yourself each day to focus on what you’re genuinely grateful for. Think of the year’s achievements, both big and small, and give thanks for them in your mind. You can write them down, say them out loud, or quietly in your mind for just a couple of seconds each day. Try to focus on one new gratitude each day, and you’ll soon realize you’re surrounded by people, places, and things that bring you joy.
A November gratitude reset is an effective way to regain your internal energy before holiday cheer kicks in. It allows you the space to heal and process the year just gone and re-energize yourself for the year ahead.
Gratitude can heal your body and mind in more ways than you think. So give yourself the gift of gratitude this holiday season.
