March! National Celery, Peanut, and Nutrition Month
March is a month of many things, St. Patricks’s Day, Women’s History Month in the US (International Women’s Day elsewhere) and International Earth Day, to name but a few. However, it is also a month to remind us of the natural and edible wonders in this world.
Celery is considered one of the healthiest foods on earth, packed with phytonutrient antioxidants that contain anti-inflammatory properties. It is thought to take more calories to eat and it’s best paired with peanut butter, dips and added to smoothies.
Another favorite being celebrated this month are peanuts – great as a snack, as a butter or as a garnish, they are high in fiber, protein, and helpful antioxidants.
