This year has flown by, which means that Halloween is just around the corner. So, impress your kids (or your friends) with some of these facts about the tradition and holiday.
1. The traditional is over 2000 years old, making it older than Christianity!
2. It comes from the pre-Christian Celtic festival called Samhain
3. Trick or treating is nearly as old… dating back to Medieval times
4. Immigrants from Ireland helped to bring the tradition to the US
5. We can also thank the Irish for Jack-o’-Lanterns, as it’s named after an Irish man who tried to trick the devil
