We Are All Connected

We are all connected. I remember one of my first introductions to this concept. When I was an early teen, my mom gave me a book by Deepak Chopra called Fire in the Heart. In the book, he describes how the same water molecules that are in the ocean are the same water molecules that exist in you. THIS, is the universal, cosmic connection.

We are a microcosm of a macrocosm

The idea that we are all connected is apparent on both a micro and macro level. You may have heard the phrase, “we are a microcosm of a macrocosm.” But what does this phrase actually mean? It’s the concept that anything on a smaller scale can also be applied on a larger scale. For example, individual human communities are just a subset of the larger community of humanity (i.e. think towns, counties, states, countries, etc.)

Fractal Geometry and Repeating Patterns

Images in nature also represent this micro-macro principle. In fact, biologist Bruce Lipton, Ph.D. describes how there are repeating patterns in nature, a term called fractal geometry. For instance, individual leaves repeat to create a fern or a bush. Individual bundles of cauliflower repeat to create the larger stock of cauliflower.

Have you ever seen patterns in nature that also look identical to something else? The swirling spiral of a shell is comparable to the swirling spiral of a black hole. A neuron in your brain looks nearly identical to an image of the Universe. Coincidence? I think not!

Bruce Lipton also applies fractal concepts to the human body. For instance, the outer, cell wall of a cell can be comparable to the skin of our bodies! And the organelles that make up a cell (e.g. mitochondria, nucleus, etc.) are just like our organs, such as our lungs and brain. Every single part of our body has a purpose, and each individual cell has an impact on the health of every component of our own bodies!

Just as we are connected to the ocean, the tides, and the stars, the same is true about all parts of the human body. Your nervous system consists of an elaborate network of signals and pathways. These signals are transmitted from the brain, down to the spine, and out of all the nerves that branch from the spine and have connections to ALL parts of the body, including our arms, legs, feet, heart, lungs, stomach, and skin. That’s why the pain you are experiencing in your foot could actually be related to what’s happening in your spine! It’s all connected!

At Twin Waves Wellness Center, we believe in holistic chiropractic care, because we are all connected on a micro and macro level. We take a holistic healing approach, seeing you and your body as already whole. By utilizing gentle and precise touchpoints along the spine, stored tension and trauma are able to unwind throughout the rest of the body. One person’s healing impacts another’s, and by releasing stored tension within the spine, you release tension within your life, thus allowing others to do the same.
